Ostrich boas have a marabou center with different layers of Ostrich depending on the thickness of the boas. Two ply Ostrich boas are 2 yards (6 ft) long, and approx 10" in diameter. The two ply has two layers of Ostrich wing feathers sewn into the marabou (soft Turkey feathers) and stripped coque sprinkled throughout the boa.
Stripped coque feathers are Rooster feathers that have been stripped exposing the stem and leaving the rounded tip, giving a whimsical appearance.
Ostrich boas can be cut without unraveling as feathers are sewn onto a cotton cord.
