Rooster Dyed Blood Quill (neck) Hackle Feathers 1-3 inches are loose, and are soft , flexible feathers with very little fluff near the quill. Hackle feathers are usually no wider than 1/2" wide are wispy (almost see through) thin, and pointed at the tip. This style of feather is naturally white and then dyed with colors with a natural sheen.
