Strung Rooster Half-Bronze Schlappen Feathers approximately 6-8 inches long are strung (sewn) together near the tip of each quill. Rooster schlappen (body) feathers are thicker than saddles or hackle feathers (ranging 1/2-3/4 inch wide), and are more rounded at the tip. Schalappen feathers soft flexible feathers, and fluffy near the quill. This variety of schlappen identified as Half-Bronze in Natural will be fluffy white at the end of the quill with a greenish iridescent color covering half, or parts of the feathers, and white with reddish-brown coloration on the the other half or through the center of the feather. When dyed a solid color, the natural greenish iridescent color is still visible.
